Course Synopsis

 

This course presents a clear and concise explanation of the tools and the techniques involved in the financial planning process. Part 1, “Principles and Processes” covers what is financial planning, who is the planner, the steps and tools in the financial planning process, and the attitudes and behavioral characterisitcs of clients. It also address financial services industry regulations and ethics and disciplinary rules. Part 2, “Financial Planning Concepts” discusses financial goals, education funding, retirement issues, special circumstances and needs, and estate planning. Part 3, “Fundamentals,” addresses budgeting and cash management, personal financial statements, credit and debt management, financing asset acquisitions, and ecomonic concepts.

 

Part 4, “Legal Issues,” covers business entities, ownership of property, and business law as it relates to financial planning. Monetary settlement planning is also adressed. And, finally, Part 5, “Major Disciplines, addresses the basic priniciples and key tenets of risk management and insurance, income tax planning, investment planning, retirement planning, and charitable planning.
